By now you probably have heard about Vine, a Twitter application that allows you to capture six seconds worth of video and convert it into a gif-like video for immediate upload to Twitter.
It's a neat little application on Android or iPhone, and it's very popular. Think of it as Instagram for short video bursts.
I looked up "Vine tutorial" on Google just now and discovered a great little intro and how-to all rolled into one, by Cnet no less. Check it out if you aren't already familiar with Vine. This video makes using Vine seem as easy as a piece of cake.
Internet, computers, and social media--focusing mostly on opinion, how-tos, and news all about web 2.0.

TweetDeck
I've never really liked TweeDeck, but faced with the new Twitter UI preview for one of my work accounts left me w/o being able to just post Tweets from the main window. Instead, I have to click on the post button on the upper, right-hand corner and it just takes too many clicks to be honest.
I downloaded TweetDeck, and was faced with tabula rasa. Learning curve here we come! I was able to locate an excellent video in the TweetDeck Support area to help me put up the necessary columns for my 3 Twitter accounts: all friends, mentions, direct messages. These are the basic columns that each account owner should have visible at all times. Search and such can be tacked on at the end.
Besides, the narrator's English accent is delectable ^_^ Narration courtesy of @richardbarley.
Having constant access to these three, main columns for each of the 3 accounts I manage is kind of vital for me, so I thought sharing the link to the video can also help others unfamiliar with TweetDeck also get their bearings...and their columns up and running.
I will see now whether it's possible to color columns differently, to help me delineate further each of the three sets of columns for each of the three accounts.

Twitter Hacked!
According to a Tweet by NPR that I just saw, there's been an exploit...that was...er...exploited.
According to the article:
"It might be wise to stay off Twitter.com this morning. A security hole is being exploited, mostly for fun and games, but also to send people to hardcore porn sites. And you don't need to click on the tweets, you just have to mouse over them."

Blogger Widgets
This Mashable article, 25 Great Blogger Widgets by Sean Aune, is my bible for hot and useful Blogger widgets -- items you add to your layout to incorporate your social media participation onto your blog. Crosslinking creates valuable points of interest for blog visitors, and helps tie-in/link to all your different social media outlets/channels.
I ESPECIALLY like the Twitter widget, which I think is the best available -- simple and to the point. The Twitter widget for Blogger actually annoys the crap out of me with continuous login requests (pop up window) for either me or my blog visitors. Not good.
I hope the article and widgets give you some ideas on creating interest and linking your social media profiles/channels together.

Twitter Trends and Retweet Updates
Twitter news about two new projects/releases today: Twitter's trending topics fix, and their roll-out of a Retweet tab.
Trending topics sometimes feature obscene or obnoxious terms because of people with lots of time and strange senses of humor. The RT tab project entails making RTing much easier than all that darn cut and pasting (sure, probably doesn't add up to more than nanoseconds in all truthfulness, but annoying none the less) we've had to endure to this day.

Unblocking Tweeple you Blocked
How do you remember who you blocked, and go about unblocking them?
There's a helpful article on this page, on the Calpernia Addams Diary blog which links to an app that ties into your Twitter to help you figure out the list of folks you've been blocking.
You can then chose to continue blocking them or unblock.
Njoy!

Posting to Facebook and Twitter
There's a great how-to page on Mashable about how to post to and from Twitter and Facebook.
Apparently there is a Twitter app on FB that you can use! None showed up when I searched months ago, it's either new, or my search results failed me.
