Lost CD Drive in OS X

I've begun copying most of my CD collection to my mac, to later back it up with an external drive.

Some of the CDs are automatically showing up on my iTunes and getting ripped, per the preferences I set up in iTunes. On the other hand, there are a couple of CDs that are not showing up, neither in iTunes nor the MacBook Pro's desktop. What to do in this sort of case?

Just click on the magnifying glass on the very upper, right-hand corner and type in disk utility. Once there in the disk utility, you look up the CD and select eject. That should do it. Once you put it back in it should recognize it just fine.

Hope this helps other folk who experienced this weird hangup on occasion, like me.
