FAIL: Adding a Google Calendar to Outlook

Disclaimer: This didn't work, but I wanted to post it here in case someone can shed some light as to why.


What

I put the dates of the spirit days on my Google Calendar, so that I could export it into Outlook to remind myself easily. Here are the instructions on how to add the calendar to your Outlook.

1. In Outlook, on the Tools menu, click Account Settings.

2. On the Internet Calendars tab, click New.

3. Paste the Internet Web address of the Google Calendar: http://www.google.com/calendar/ical/31430k6ce10upn7mkl2lmcdgfs@group.calendar.google.com/private-498f893be2ea947556dce256a1bfae3e/basic.ics

4. Click Add.

5. In the Folder Name box, type the name of the calendar: 2009 CSCMP Monthly Team Spirit Days

6. Click OK.

7. Click Closed.

NOTE
To make changes to your Google calendar, you must use Google Calendar. Changes made in Outlook are not sent to your Google Calendar.
