I first found out about Evernote when reading an article in Lifehacker with suggestions about what to do now that Google Notes was no longer in development due to program cuts they effected.
Do you know what Evernote is?
It's a free, online clipping service that you can download to your puter, use from your smart phone, or use online and through your browser via an add-on. You can use Evernote to create "clippings" of content from almost anything: applications, websites, typed notes, etc.
What do you use it for?
I use it to capture receipt/confirmation web pages when I effect online purchases, to capture information I'm researching from Wikipedia and other websites, when I need to note down some quick typed notes, or when I need to capture an image or parts of a PDF. The best part though, is not only is it free, but it's searchable. So finding things is done either through the scrolling feature or through the search feature.
Aren't there better tools than Evernote?
We all know there's tons of tools out there, and each of us have our preferred ones. I know a lot of people are big fans of Snagit, and other similar programs. What gets me w/ those is that if you don't pay for the license, you don't play. Evernote is free, accessible from wherever there's an Internet connection, and can help you quick-capture things on your to-do list or ideas that strike.
Evernote provided a major update for their Windows puter tool users today.
